PAHO Celebrates World Health Day

PAHO Celebrates World Health Day

PAHO Office for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean held a reception at its headquarters in Barbados in celebration of World Health Day, April 7, 2016. During the event, Dr. Godfrey Xuereb, PAHO WHO Representative, presented copies of the WHO Global Report on Diabetes to Mr. John Boyce the Honourable Minister of Health and Sir Trevor Hassell, Chair of the Barbados National NCD Commission. In his remarks Dr. Xuereb highlighted diabetes statistics in Barbados and pledged PAHO's ongoing provision of technical assistance in prevention and control of diabetes.
